Joan Snyder, Juror
Internationally
recognized painter Joan Snyder has work in many public collections,
including
the Museum
of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York City
Jewish Museum,
the Guggenheim Museum and the Phillips Collection. In 2005,
the
Jewish
Museum presented
a
35-year survey of her work that traveled
to the Danforth
Museum
in Framingham, MA. Her many
awards include a
National
Endowment
for the Arts
Fellowship,
a Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship and a MacArthur Fellowship.
ELIGIBILITY Eligible two-dimensional media include painting, drawing, printmaking and mixed media, not to exceed 36" in height or width, including frame.
Sculpture, photography and digital art not eligible. Work must be suitably framed. Glazing on all shipped work must be Plexiglass.
SALES All work will be for sale unless artist states otherwise. All proceeds will go to the artist.
FEES A $35.00 entry fee allows each artist to submit 1-3 images. A $5.00 fee is required for each additional image submitted. A maximum of 6 images may be submitted to the competition. Entry fees must be paid to Bowery Gallery through the Paypal link in the entry form. Fees are nonrefundable. While there are no handling fees, artists are responsible for all shipping costs.
DEADLINE Submissions must be received by midnight, April 15, 2013. The gallery will make every effort to notify applicants of acceptance by June 1.
