These paintings are part of an ongoing series involving subjects from natural history and archaeology. The compositions, which contain motifs such as birds, plants, fossils and fragments of ancient ceramic vessels and sculpture, playfully evoke the arrangements of specimens and objects found in museum display cases and storage drawers.
